CUBO GARUTTI: MUSEION
printed matter, 2014
Piccolo Museion – Cubo Garutti 2004-14
is dedicated to the
, a public art project created by Alberto Garutti in Bolzano in 2003.
Like a photo album, the pages of this book retrace the stages of the project through the works that have been displayed there, the site-specific projects and workshops that have followed the inauguration of the Piccolo Museion.
It therefore also offers an overview of how other artists have interpreted the neighborhood and Garutti’s project. The artist himself was asked to trace the history of the piece and reflect on how it has developed.
The book is a journey in which the museum, curators, artists and the education department have responded to the call for “art in the local area” by focusing on the innate contradictions of public art projects and the conditions in which they are perceived.
